[Revisor-users] Problem: building install CD

I had a lot of problems using revisor too, I gave up trying to come up with new models
like you were trying to do, there is too much stuff hard coded into the program once
you select a given model, so I modified an existing model. using git to get sources and
following instructions that were evolving at the bleeding edge. I built the following rpms

revisor-comps-2.0.5-3.fc7
revisor-2.0.5-3.fc7
revisor-rebrand-2.0.5-3.fc7
revisor-virt-2.0.5-3.fc7
revisor-delta-2.0.5-3.fc7
revisor-jigdo-2.0.5-3.fc7
revisor-cobbler-2.0.5-3.fc7

I don't currently use the gui, but have at some point seen my pacakges in the list tab
but was unable to get the kickstart file as the default install.

I currently use the revisor --cli, with a composite kickstart file that includes all
packages from all my kickstart files, decompose the produced dvd, add all my kickstart files
to the root of the iso, add my custom isolinux.cfg that has
install test
install host1
install host2
install host3
.....
memtest86

then use genisoimage to recreate the dvd, and have been testing using xen.
Still shaking the bugs out of my rpms, Requires, Provides, %Pre, %Post sections
of my rpm spec files packages. I've gotten my install test menu option down to
about 400 packages, which shortens the development cycle considerably from the
1100 ... 1500 packages required by the other full host installs.

There were a lot of bugs with the prepackaged revisor rpms, little documentation
with customizing it. A lot of what I've learn is from using --cli, --debug and chasing through the
log files. good luck to you.

  Arno

    Hello Arno,

It is *not* repository problem. I said, I'm able to install my program
using yum. Problem is, in the revisor GUI, it does not show my program in
the list tab or search tab. However, it does show my repository when I
select the revisor-f7-hello-i386.conf file and click *Apply*.

Or let's make is simple, could you tell me how can I add my program to
the Linux install CD, so that it gets installed along with the OS?

Thanks!
